Univerzita Karlova Pedagogická fakulta DISERTAČNÍ PRÁCE Černá. (Vybrané případy fenoménu ve výtvarném umění, kultuře a jejich možnosti v edukaci) MgA. Jan Pfeiffer 2023 Charles University, Faculty of Education DISSERTATION Black. (Selected cases of phenomena in visual arts, culture and their possibilities in education) MgA. Jan Pfeiffer 2023 Abstract The subject of this work is black, or the designation for color. But it is also an artistic concept and means of expression. The subject of my interest are selected cases of the black phenomenon in visual arts, culture, and their possibilities in education. I understand black as a phenomenon that I explore through my own creative work. In the course of it, I ask myself questions, such as: what stimuli, for example, black gives us and how it is connected with our socio-cultural background and its perception. I also ask contemporary artists working consciously or unconsciously with black, what black enables them in their work, and how it supports them, whether it is crucial for them. My intention is to open new perspectives on the subject of black and its connection with daily life, the ability to treat this phenomenon as a conscious gesture, an opinion - distinguishing different uses of black context. I also examine the possibilities of reasoning verified in...
Habitat specific population densities in animals: a concept review
Šlosarová, Dita Afrodita ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Koleček, Jaroslav (referee)
Population density estimate can be expressed through many different ways. Various concepts differ above all in area of the survey, which is influenced by aim of the research and the purpose of the results. Commonly used crude density reports the abundance of individuals per unit of a geographic space. Ecological population density concept, on the other hand, expresses the number of individuals within an ecological space, such as specific habitat type, hence the usage of habitat-specific name as well. Ecological density in comparison to crude density, often shows considerably higher population density. It it clear that higher values of ecological density appear to be caused either by smaller area of the survey or by selection of the area by prior knowledge of space distribution of individuals Although some authors like Elton, Mohr and Damuth attempted to define different concepts, there is still no united and strict definition of ecological density. Therefore, we meet with many variations and a broad scope of utilization, that are all collectively named ecological or habitat specific density. While using the habitat-specific density it is crucial to consider many aspects such as the body mass of the individuals, which correlates to size of the area of occurrence, their habitat preferences and...
Gesture. Significance of an object in grey zone of public space
Sedlák, Michal ; Hůla, Zdenek (advisor) ; Hazuková, Helena (referee) ; Hlaváček, Ludvík (referee)
The dissertation thesis deals with the relation of a person towards the physical public space from the point of view of an artist/teacher in the academic milieu. The frequently discussed subject of public space is not limited to purely artistic sphere or artistic gesture. It also implies a simple transgression to everyday life related to education and cultivation. An essential part of the research is the case study at the Department of Art Education of the Faculty of Education of the Charles University, which inquires into the perception of the future pedagogues of the physical public space and how they gtranslate it into the art language. The cornerstone stimulus for the research lies in the premise that future teachers will, through the prism of their view of the worl and by their vocation influence the education of the young generation. This fact of transgression is given by the existence of the subject of Art Education where the 3D design itself plays a certain role. The research is focused on what lies behind the phenomena in the process of the creation and inception of "something new" in the physical public space. The concept of a gesture represents a metaphor of material introduction into a space that, at some point, becomes a part o it .The integration is called actualization and the issue of the...

The aim was to point out some specifics of everyday activities in the physical and virtual space of the deliberately selected sample of young people that may be present in the whole population. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part deals with the virtual space, Time geography in relation to ICT and some studies concerning different perspectives of the influence of ICT on everyday life of people. The empirical part focuses on the use of ICT by selected socio- demographical groups of Czech inhabitants and some time aspects of the use of ICT and other activities performed by young people and other age groups. Then, the key part is about the description of the mingling of virtual and physical space in the everyday life of 10 communication partners. Their mobility patterns are based on the mingling of two basic types of movements, virtual and physical. The mingling of virtual and physical space is also based on the time mingling of all activities, including the social...
